((Hi there! (^ ^) It's totally okay about the wait; it's just really nice to see that the both of you are back! Thank you so much for looking over my character. I created an account and made the changes below, so I hope they suffice. Thank you so very much again! <3))
Full Name: Adora May Dalton
Age: 17
Description or Playby: She has long, honey-brown, and super, SUPER curly hair that she often wears loose. Her blue eyes contrast with her slightly thick and dark eyebrows, and she has a pointy nose. When she’s out in the sun, which is most of the time, she gets a nice tan, but her normal complexion is actually quite fair. She has a curvy but athletic figure, weighs about 120lbs and is about 5’ 3”. Her clothing style is usually simple, girly and modest and is often inspired by some fiction that she likes at the time. If it helps any, her playby is Liana Liberato, but with super, SUPER curly hair!
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Olympian Parent: Apollo
Mortal Parent: Catherine Dalton
Personality: ISFP - Adora is kind above all else. She is naturally gentle and quiet, but her unquenchable thirst for adventure, her deep feelings, and her vivid imagination often overshadow her reserve, making her a spirited, creative, and dauntless companion. She is mentally strong and confident and able to overcome most of her fears, but at the same time, she is very laid-back and unassuming. She is strongly guided by her moral values and is capable of forming deep emotional attachments to almost anyone. Adora also shows keen appreciation of beauty, loving nothing more than to challenge herself to find something beautiful in everything. There is nothing Adora loves more than singing and listening to music, but she also loves fantasy –whether she reads or daydreams about it- being in nature and practicing archery. She’s also quite fond of running, reading history and learning about astronomy. Even though she isn’t really good at it, she likes to practice drawing as well and likes to engage in certain sports. Since she almost always thinking about music, Adora has a habit of drumming her fingers, usually to the beat of some song in her head and is known for humming mindlessly at random moments. She hates unnecessarily rigid rules and conflict is a great stressor for her. Although she can be patient with them, she is repelled by overly judgmental people, and since politics often involve conflict and debates, she shys away from that too. She’s smart but doesn’t favor precise measurements and because of this, she is a terrible cook and her weakest point of learning is maths. Her most prominent and fatal flaw is greed. Wanting to experience every adventure, she can lose focus on the more important things and become fiercely aggressive, going to any lengths to satisfy her thirst for excitement. In doing so, she can distance herself from those around her. Because of her tendency to live in a fantasy world, she often becomes downhearted when she realizes that most of her dreams won’t come true, and in this state of mind she can be aloof and unsympathetic to those around her. She also has a propensity to be easily stressed and is afraid of snakes. She also doesn’t know how to swim, so she is deathly frightened of being around water.
History: Adora’s mother Catherine was a beautiful and talented musician whose dream was to travel the world and sing. During one of her travels, she fell in love with a man she would later discover to be Apollo, and so Adora was born. Catherine, realizing the responsibility of raising a demigod, gave up on her career in music and instead became a full-time school counselor, never once getting married. Adora lived with her mother and aunt in Arizona and grew up in a very loving and supportive environment. Her bright and sympathetic personality made her many friends at school, but her dyslexia combined with her tendency to daydream didn’t earn her the best grades and, in addition to that, she had some strange experiences with monsters when she was little. This included one incident when her class went on a field trip to Lake Mead. Adora, not knowing how to swim, was on a boat with her lifejacket and the rest of the teachers, but somehow a strange whirlpool grew in the center of the lake, the result of none other than Charybdis, the sea monster. Curious Adora fell over board and nearly drowned, but was rescued by one of the teachers. This is something that greatly contributed to her fear of water. Because of this, her mother thought it best to home-school her when she entered 2nd grade. However, since her mother was both a single mom and a full-time worker, Adora was raised by her mother’s best friend, Jessie, for the majority of her childhood. Being an only child, Adora lived a loving, but very lonely life; she often distracted herself through music and fantasy. One day when she was 16, she was out taking a walk on the canyons when she spotted an interesting looking snake. She went to examine it, only to realize that it was indeed Python, the mythological serpent that guarded the oracle of Delphi. Remembering the unusual instructions her mother had her commit to memory when she was little, Adora figured out how to turn her key into a golden bow and, after a very close fight, she was able to scare Python away. Shortly thereafter, Catherine and Jessie realized that Camp Half-Blood would be the safest place for her. Adora was given a plane ticket, a few words as to why she would understand everything in time and directions to the camp. That’s how she arrived there, with almost no knowledge of what she is or of the fantastical world she is surrounded by.
Weapons: A golden key, given to her mother by Apollo, that has a handle inscribed with the symbol of the sun. When the sun is pressed, the key transforms into an Imperial Golden bow and quiver. However, the bow is very sensitive to sunlight and the lack of it. When in sunlight, the arrows are enhanced and are able to pierce through most targets -provided her aim is accurate- but if her bow remains out of the sun for more than a couple of hours, the arrows do no more damage than normal ones. Also, if she stays in darkness for too long, the number of arrows in her quiver ceases to be unlimited forcing her to have to retrieve her already fired arrows from her targets.
Abilities: Photokenesis is her first main ability. Since she has the ability to control light, Adora also has the ability to control the colors in her surroundings. This is helpful because it enables her to camouflage herself by blending into the background, but this is only an advantage when she isn’t moving or when the monster she is trying to hide from has a keen sense of smell. She is still working on being able to create light out of nothing, but is having a hard time. She also has the power of Vitakenesis and is able to heal most wounds. However, in order to heal she has to be in direct sunlight, otherwise, her powers would either be very weak or they won’t work. Also, Adora excels in archery and music, but not in precognition or physical contests.
Years at camp: None, this is her first year.
Year-rounder or summer-only camper?: Year-Rounder.
